DESCRIPTION:A Muslim is a custodian\, a keeper of trusts\, and a steward over creation. Through D&T Serve\, you can be all of those things while having a good time with good people and even earn some cool swag in the process. \nThis time we’re heading to Long Beach\, California to clean the place up. \nWe’ll meet at Bluff Park. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gardening or dish gloves and buckets to minimize our dependence on single-use plastics\, but we’ll have disposable gloves and garbage bags on-hand just in case. \nBring snacks\, water\, sunscreen\, and hand-sanitizer. We’ve got a few pickers to hand out to the early arrivals\, so be prompt and you’ll get a fancy tool. \nAnd if we get done early we’ll hang out and have a good time. \nGot a D&T Clan Card? \nIf you do\, you’ll earn one D&T Coin for every hour cleaning. Accumulate those coins and cash them out for stickers\, water bottles\, t-shirts and other sweet\, sweet D&T swag. \nCOVID-19: We are committed to keeping all participants healthy through smaller groups\, limited physical contact and\, for those inclined\, the wearing of a mask. \n \nNot ready to clean? DESCRIPTION:For adults and children of all ages. \nAll creeds welcome. \nRock climbing integrates mind and body like few other activities. There are numerous studies documenting the physical and mental health benefits of rock climbing for men\, women\, and children. These benefits include enhanced self-esteem and confidence\, improved mental focus\, physical conditioning\, and even relief from depression and anxiety. \nBut it can be intimidating. All of those ropes and equipment and those hard\, scary\, jagged places! \nWe want to help you and your family move past that intimidation and into discovery of what could evolve into the greatest passion of your life. \nJoin us for our family climbing day at Stoney Point Park in Chatsworth\, California. We’ll walk you through the basics of climbing safety including: \n\nwhat kind of gear you need to get started in climbing\nhow to communicate with your climbing partner\nand how to tie basic knots for maximum safety\n\nGear Requirements (bring your own or share ours): \n\nClimbing shoes\nClimbing harness\nClimbing helmet\n\nWe will have all other gear and two climbing mentors on site. Spots are limited to a maximum of 12 persons. \nSnacks and cold drinks will be provided. \nBring lunch and plenty of water.
