DESCRIPTION:All ages welcome.\nAll creeds welcome. \nEid al-Fitr\, the Festival of Fast-Breaking is upon us! \nJoin us as we search the skies just after sunset for the new moon. Together we’ll honor the beginning of another lunar month! \nMankind’s first calendar derives from the intentional observation of the moon and her phases. This remains a sacred tradition amongst Muslim peoples to the present day. \nThey ask you (O Prophet) about the phases of the moon. Say\, ‘They are a means for people to determine time and pilgrimage.’ \nQ2:189 \n  \nThis is a family friendly event. A moon-sighting is never guaranteed\, but we get to hang out\, have some snacks\, and enjoy a sunset together. \nMeet us at any of the sighting locations in the dropdown field below. Feel free to bring some munchies. Bundle up and don’t forget your water and a prayer mat! \nNote: if attending at Chapparal Park\, please plan to meet at 5:30 pm for a short hike to our overlook\, insha Allah. \nOptional: Binoculars \nInclement weather obscuring the sky will cancel this event. \nThere is no fee for this event\, but clicking the registration button will allow us to optimize our hospitality\, God willing. \n\n\nQuestions?
