SUMMARY:D&T Rise: Men in Recovery (Divorce)
DESCRIPTION:a rock-climbing adventure for men affected by divorce \n \n  \nAs men\, we internalize our families. Our wives and children are taken as extensions of ourselves. Caretakers\, providers\, guardians- these are the roles that give our short and brutal lives meaning. \nAnd then one day\, it’s all gone. \nSome of us are lucky. Our splits are amicable- just mature people doing the right thing in acknowledging that marriage is no longer the best way of defining the relationship. We move on with our former spouse\, in a solidarity that honors the value of what was\, but will no longer be. \nThat’s not my story. And I’m hardly alone. \nHorrific stories of unconscionable allegations\, extortionate lawyers\, heartbreak\, and betrayal coupled with financial\, emotional\, and spiritual devastation are too often the case. We are challenged to grieve not only the loss of connection with our partner\, but we are further leveled by separation from our children\, the loss of financial discretion\, and the devastating realization that everything we imagined to have value\, including our dreams\, has been replaced by a vortex of despair. \nBrothers: this too shall pass. And in the process we will learn how wrong we were in our assumptions about marriage and family. \nJoin us for three days in Joshua Tree National Park where we will be joined by a mindfulness coach and rock climbing facilitators who will help to move us back into our hearts and bodies. \nAny and all men affected by divorce are invited. Whether you are considering divorce\, in the process of divorce\, or even remarried after a divorce\, you are welcome. \nThis trip requires that you provide your own food\, clothing\, and sleep kit. As part of the Dust and Tribe experience\, you will be coached and mentored through these logistics. Rental options through non-contracted vendors are available. \nWe’re keeping this intimate with room for only 8 participants. All creeds are welcome. \n\n\nNot ready to sign up?
