Do the thing that nobody else will: join us as we freeze for the glory of fish!

Yes, it will be cold. Perhaps even perilous. A lot of things have to go right and that’s in God’s Hands, so we’re definitely not making any promises. But there are some monsters in Caples Lake: rainbow and cutthroat trout and even some massive Mackinaws.

You’ll have to decide whether or not you’re ready to hunt them.

If you are, you’ll be with us drilling into the ice, rigging our poles, and finding ways to keep warm as we tempt the leviathans plying the depths below.

They call it fishing and not “catching” for a reason. Sometimes you go home with nothing but memories, but we’ve got some consolation prizes just in case.

After your day on the lake, you can look forward to a return to Camp One where we will have a warm fire and a home-cooked meal waiting for you. If you want to test your winter camping skills, you’re welcome to pitch a tent outside near our fire pit. If you’d prefer something a bit more cozy with flushing toilets, well then you’re welcome to stay inside the main house with us.

What man doesn’t like options?

To make the trip easier for those coming from a distance, we are including an optional overnight stay and home-cooked meal Friday February 7th at Camp One in Placerville, about 1.5 hours from Caples Lake.

Included:

• Two nights of camping with dinner and light breakfast at D&T Camp One
• Point-by-point itinerary, packing list, and personalized assistance with logistics
• All of the equipment necessary for a full day of ice-fishing
• Professional portraits for anyone that lands a fish
• New friends and a lifetime of memories!

You are responsible for your packed lunch while on the lake, transportation, and appropriate clothing/footwear.

Your trip facilitators are Luke Frobase and Ahmed Pierstorff.

Trip will cancel if fewer than 6 registered participants by January 25th, 2025.

Book your spot with a $100 deposit that is refundable up to 30 days prior to our trip (refund deadline Thursday 1/9/2025).
