D&T Lite: Family Climb

For adults and children of all ages.

All creeds welcome.

Rock climbing integrates mind and body like few other activities. There are numerous studies documenting the physical and mental health benefits of rock climbing for men, women, and children. These benefits include enhanced self-esteem and confidence, improved mental focus, physical conditioning, and even relief from depression and anxiety.

But it can be intimidating. All of those ropes and equipment and those hard, scary, jagged places!

We want to help you and your family move past that intimidation and into discovery of what could evolve into the greatest passion of your life.

Join us for our family climbing day at Stoney Point Park in Chatsworth, California. We’ll walk you through the basics of climbing safety including:

• what kind of gear you need to get started in climbing
• how to communicate with your climbing partner
• and how to tie basic knots for maximum safety

Gear Requirements (bring your own or share ours):

• Climbing shoes
• Climbing harness
• Climbing helmet

We will have all other gear and two climbing mentors on site. Spots are limited to a maximum of 12 persons.

Snacks and cold drinks will be provided.

Bring lunch and plenty of water. Bathrooms are located at a separate park a short drive away.

COVID-19: We are committed to keeping all participants healthy through smaller groups and adherence to city park COVID regulations which currently require the wearing of a mask.

This event has been cancelled due to predicted temperatures in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
